Competition Terms & Conditions

The terms for the Wool4School Competition (Hong Kong) (‘Competition’) include the Student Competition Summary, the Teacher Competition Summary and the Terms and Conditions each of which is set out in this document (‘Terms’).


STUDENT COMPETITION SUMMARY

Eligibility
You must meet the following criteria to be eligible to participate:

Entrants must be aged between 14 – 19 and studying either:

Hong Kong Resident.

Entry requirements
Your Entry must include all the below requirements and be submitted via the wool4school.com/en-hk/ website. Anything in addition to those requirements will not be considered. A suggested maximum of eight files per student are recommended however multiples file uploads are permitted with each file limited to 10MB (only .pdf, .jpg, .png, .doc or .docx format). Note: in your Entry please do not include any personal information about persons other than yourself or your parent/guardian.

a)

Illustrated design of your outfit (‘Outfit’):

  • Annotations of suitable fabric selections.
  • Minimum of one piece, with a maximum of four pieces.
  • Proposed fabric composition for the entire Outfit should be a minimum of 70 percent Merino wool (incorporate knit or woven fabrics or a combination).
  • Do not include your name on this illustration.

b)

Creative Statement:

  • Suggested limit, 500 words.
  • Explain your design concept and provide a description of the garment's design.
  • Show understanding of The Woolmark logo.
  • Describe how your outfit reflects the brief.
  • Provide a justification of wool materials and innovations used in your design and those properties and benefits it best reflects.

End User Profile:

  • Create a profile that reflects the requirements and style of the end user.

Technical sketch, only required for Senior submissions:

  • Detail the technical elements of your Outfit.
  • Visually demonstrate the properties of your Outfit.
  • Draw to scale.

4)

Judging Criteria
Your Entry will be judged by a panel of four judges, according to the following criteria:

a)

An innovative, creative and cohesive design that meets the set design brief and standard of competition quality

b)

A Fashion illustration which shows clarity, annotations and techniques.

c)

A description of the suitability of the wool materials selected for the design, this includes wool innovations and blends.

d)

Demonstrate understanding of the properties and characteristics of wool as they are used in the design.

e)

Show understanding of what the Woolmark logo appropriate to their design means.

f)

Overall visual presentation.

TEACHER COMPETITION SUMMARY

Complete the Wool4School Teacher Questionnaire (‘Questionnaire’). Additional supporting documents may be added to support your submission. This may include photos, class work examples, etc.

Judging Criteria
Your entry will be judged according to the following criteria:

a)

Evidence of student success in the classroom (as requested in Questionnaire/ evidenced by student entries from your students).

b)

Evidence of quality teaching in the classroom (as requested in Questionnaire).

c)

Quality and quantity of student entries (evidenced by student entries from your students).

d)

Demonstrate understanding of the properties and characteristics of wool as they are used in the design.

e)

Reflective and thoughtful teacher responses (as requested in Questionnaire).
